"I'm
a bit of a habitual water bottle buyer. I seem to have tons of
them lying around the house - Sigg, Nalgene, Camelbak, the lot.
On my last hillwalking trip I couldn't find any of them as I was
packing to leave. The only ones I could find were an Edinburgh
Bike Co-op freebie aluminium bottle with sports cap that came
with a bike purchase, and the Highlander 0.75 litre bottle. I
decided to take both - it was July after all and I'd be up on
ridges hopefully all day without many chances to refill.
It
was with dismay that I arrived at the bottom of the hill, pulled
my gear out the pack and found that the Edinburgh Bike Coop bottle
was leaking. Down to one bottle I hoped the Highlander one would
perform a bit better. I needn't have worried. It worked out fine,
felt just like a Sigg bottle, pleasant to drink from and didn't
leak. I got annoyed with the keyring and krab attachment on the
cap and removed them - they interfered with spinning your finger
round in the cap hole to open and close the bottle quickly. Once
they were gone though I was happy. This is a good bottle and I'd
be happy to use it again.
Anyway,
congrats to Highlander - this is a good quality aluminium bottle
and it costs waaaay less than the main competition."
