PAP OF GLENCOE

2430ft 100 minutes to top

This mountain, although not of Munro size is truly a sentinel at the west end of Glencoe. Often when the high tops are in cloud and mist, the Pap sits clear of any covering, and an ascent of this hill will afford views up and down Loch Leven when no-one else can see where they're going

Start on the B-road between Glencoe Village and the Clachaig Inn, Glencoe.
About 100m east of the pine forest there is a gate leading to a gravel track up the hill. Walk up this track and before you reach the end, the real path swings off to the right.
Follow this path and once across the burn follow it uphill along the side of a gully.

Follow this path all the way up to the bealach, ignoring the branch off to the right leading to Sgorr nam Fiannaidh.
At the bealach turn left, northwest and ascend the steep slopes of the "pap" to reach the summit.

Return same as ascent.
