LONG DISTANCE FOOTPATHS, WALKS & TRAILS SCOTLAND
Scotland has some great long distance footpaths from extreme mountain walks to pleasant seaside or valley strolls. There are more walks popping up all the time, apart from the official long distance trails.
West Highland
Way
96
miles from Milngavie on the edge of Glasgow to Fort WIlliam. This
is probably the most publicised of long distance trails in Scotland
after being the subject of a Jimmy Macgregor TV program. It's a
great walk though running roughly parallel to the A82 and has plenty
facilities (and pubs) en-route. The scenery is some of the finest
you will see in southern Scotland passing Loch Lomond, the Blackmount,
Glencoe and Glen Nevis.

Southern
Upland Way
An
awesome 212 miles of long distance footpath traversing the entirity
of southern Scotland from Portpatrick on the west coast to Cockburnspath
on the North sea. This is a huge route, but as with any of the long
distance footpaths it is always worth trying out a section or two
to see if you like it. This website gives you all the information
for either the entire route or for shorter walks or cycling routes
in and around the Southern Upland Way.

walk takes you round the coast of Fife. The Fife Coastal Path is
still undergoing work in some sections, but the website has full

Speyside
Way
84
miles from Buckie to Aviemore, the Speyside way takes you through
the heart of whisky country - Strathspey. With the option to visit
many of the distilleries en-route, this walk could take you much
longer than the 5-7 days you might put aside for it.
