Goretex Re-proofing on the Cheap
Trail mag this month has an article about reproofing agents for your goretex, sympatex etc. As far as I knew they cost a lot of money and you only got 3 or 4 washes out of a bottle. As tight as I am this means that I wash my goretex jacket around once a year and make do with a waterlogged shell as soon as it wears off. I've had the bottle of tech wash in the cupboard for around 4 years now. Anyway, the shock news in Trail was that Comfort Pure Concentrate fabric conditioner works just as well as any of the reproofing agents and costs around a quid per bottle. Turns out Comfort Pure Concentrate is a silicon based agent and works just like any of the other goretex reproofers. I'm off to stuff all my kit in the machine now to get ready for some serious water beading this bank holiday weekend. As far as I know Trail is not online, so you'll have to find a real-life paper copy to read the full article.

Tracking your Pedometer Usage
Came across a site today for pedometer fans. Call me a geek but I think this is the kind of thing the internet is great for. Log your pedometer steps and track usage, generating stats etc. You can even run a mini blog about your stats and walking progress (now that is geeky) http://walk.ideacog.net/

New Outdoors Gear
We love getting a new product in, tearing open the packaging then taking it out and seeing how it performs. Try as we might though we cannot find the supplier for these great new outdoors products in The Angry Corrie. My personal favourite is the cagoule of invisibility. I wonder if you have to use fabric softener to keep it invisible?

Using walking poles
We've had a lot of questions recently about the basics of walking poles so I've put together this short guide to using walking poles and what they are all about. It's pretty basic but might give some help to anyone thinking of buying them.
