Measuring Route Distances
I'm sure most people have probably come across Google Earth by now. It doesn't show the Scottish hills in particularly good detail yet but today I came across a great tool within it. It's a measurement tool, found within the tools menu. You can measure a straight line distance or draw out a path on the satellite picture and Google will give you the distance. Great for hikers, bikers, paddlers or runners. First few tries on routes I normally run or bike show it to be pretty accurate.
Just thought I'd share.

Comments:

Thank You very much ive been looking for a tool to measure my running routes. Well, it was very helpful...

Thanks so much for this, I've also been looking for something to do this for my fitness recovery after a serous illness; brilliant, thanks for sharing it.
