Looking for a Scarpa Zero Gravity 65 review
I've decided I'm sick of having slightly crap boots that give me blisters - my summer boots are a pair of Trezeta lightweights and my winter ones Meindl Nepal Pro's. Acutally in the case of the Meindl's the boots aren't crap, they are absolutely bombproof, but I think just slightly too large - which is why I'm getting sore feet.
So I'm thinking about the Scarpa Zero Gravity XCR for summer. Has anyone got them - do they live up to the Scarpa reputation? Really just looking for a bit of affirmation before I go and shell out over a hundred quid for summer boots. I used to have a pair of Scarpa Alp's which lasted more than 10 years, and would still be in use now if my feet hadn't grown, so I know Scarpa's can be brilliant. Please leave a comment if you've got a pair of the zero gravity's. Mountaineering Council of Scotland membership
Well it was my birthday the other day and my wife surprised me with a family membership of the MC of S. It came completely out of the blue, and I think it's a great present.
Looking forward to making best use of it. Lots of hut trips and attendances at the safety lectures etc. MC of S is an extremely worthwhile organisation and they have fought hard recently for the rights of walkers and climbers. When the first draft of the Land Reform Act came in, the number of points that they had to fight for our interests on was mountainous! Anyway, I'm glad to be a member now and maybe I'll see you in one of the huts sometime. |
