Bob Scott's Bothy in Scottish Mountaineer Magazine
Anguish was heard echoing through the glens a few years ago when it became apparent that Bob Scott's bothy near Derry Lodge in the Cairngorms had been razed to the ground. Bob Scott's was a favourite bothy of mine and has been the base for many an adventure.
There apparently was nothing suspicious about the fire and it was just an accident in which the people involved were lucky not to have been hurt. So last week Scottish Mountaineer Magazine came through the door (it's the members mag for the MC of S) and there was a large feature on the rebuilding of Bob Scott's which has been facilitated by the hard work of the Friends of Bob Scott's association. It's a good read and the mag is well worth getting your hands on. Good luck to everyone rebuilding the bothy. Posted by bigcrags @
