World Youth Climbing Championships 2005
Last year I was lucky enough to stumble into Ratho Quarry when the youth climbing championships were on. I had no idea it was happening but was enthralled when I got there. These youngsters could out-climb Spiderman. The speed they went up the walls was unbelievable. It was a huge gathering of remarkable talent that will hopefully go on as they grow up to push the boundaries of outdoors climbing even further.

So I thought I'd maybe go this year to see it again. Er, no. This years championships are in Beijing. This weekend to be precise. There are a few Scot's in the British team, one sporting a rather patriotic haircut. See the team here: http://www.mountaineering-scotland.org.uk/sports/worldyouth05.html.
Anyway, good luck to the British team this year.
