SWAP SOC'

Ever find yourself looking at the number of Munros you've climbed and realise that despite having been up 15 or 20 this year, you've only added 3 to your total.

Picture this scenario in the pub:

A - Been out on the hill today?
B - Yeah, if you can call it a hill. Ben Chonzie, again. First with the club, then my wife and now my eldest son. That's three times.
A - Can't say I know the hill. Do you ever get up to Glencoe, do the ridge and all that?
B - You're havin a laugh! I'll never get up that with my vertigo.
A - Vertigo eh? Tell you what, do you fancy swapping one of your Ben Chonzie's and another out of the way hill for my two Munro's on the Ridge? I've done it more times that I can remember.
B - How does that work?
A - Simple. As long as you've climbed it more than once, you can swap a tick for another hill that someone else has climbed more than once. Gentleman's handshake and away you go and tick it off - never worry about your vertigo again.
It'll keep people on the hills they really enjoy and make the whole experience of being a Munro Completer a lot more pleasurable and democratic.
